More about Simple Minds
The legendary Scottish band led by vocalist and composer Jim Kerr is undeniably one of the musical giants at the Starlight Festival programme. Formed at the end of the seventies, the band is still as fresh today as it ever was, even after having sold over sixty million records in its long and highly successful history.
Who can forget their top hits including "Alive and Kicking" as well as "Dont you forget about me".
Simple Minds has received universal acclaim for the recent success of their 5x5 concerts in which they play five songs from each of their first five albums. Jim Kerr said, ‘One of the great things about playing these festivals is that it lets us get in front of younger generations and we have to get up there and prove that our music’s timeless, that it’s got something for all ages and that the power and hopefully the authenticity of the music will strike a chord with people who haven’t witnessed Simple Minds before or don’t know much about us.… They’re songs that many of our fans have been asking us to play, so in the end this is a unique opportunity to see it.’
